Africa's Great Migration - Tanzania

Are you seeking an African Adventure, but are discouraged by the high prices for safaris?  Not sure what to bring?  Is it safe to travel to remote areas of Africa?

Featuring Animals offered guided tours of Tanzania's Great Migration with an optional Gorilla Trek in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest of Uganda.  We offer 10 day tours in February and August to Four incredibly unique and diverse regions of Northern Tanzania to enjoy the wildlife - up close and personal!  Trek the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an unforgettable encounter with mountain Gorillas (treks for all activity levels or a chair can be hired to bring you to the Gorillas).

Mitchel and Renee Kalmanson accompany each tour to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests, as well as to provide knowledgeable guides and information on the animals and habitats.  Both are avid photographers, averaging 8,000-10,000 photos per trip!  As we are aware that not every guest has the professional photography equipment, an 11 x 14 (or larger) photo book is included for each couple (or single traveler) of the animals on their specific tour.

Once a tour is booked, each guest will receive a list of recommended supplies/clothing for the trip.  We will also recommend a vaccine / medication protocol which must be discussed with your doctor prior to travel.

During our 10 day Safari, we will travel to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation area (including the Ngorongoro Caldera), and Serengeti National Park.  February is the calving season for the Wildebeest, averaging 2,000-3,000 calves per day in the Northern Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Southern Serengeti.  As such, many of the carnivores are very active in this area seeking easy prey.  August brings us to the Northern Serengeti for the crossing of the Mara River - the crocodiles lie in wait of the Wildebeest and Zebras as they cross the river on their way south in their migration to the the calving grounds.  Each safari is unique and adventurous.

Lodging will vary from one site to another - we will stay in en suite tented camps as well as modern lodges.  Each guest is provided with 2L of bottled water per day.  At each camp/lodge, coffee, tea, and water are included with meals.  Sodas are available for purchase along with wine and liquor.

Prices are based on the total number of guests per tour group - we are happy to offer private tours for a single couple or include multiple couples in a single tour group if desired!
